South Atlantic Anomaly

South Atlantic Anomaly is also known as the Bermuda Triangle in Space. It is located in the Atlantic Ocean, 300 km off the coast of Brazil, and it is one of the most dangerous areas of radiation ever.

Basically, it is an area where the inner Van Allen radiation belt of Earth comes closest to its surface, which creates destruction with spacecraft and satellites. 

Astronauts on the space always complain about their laptops getting broken and crashed whenever they pass through the anomaly. Most NASA satellites go into Safe Mode or just shut down completely when they pass over the Atlantic, between Africa and Brazil, to avoid any damage.

Also, there are many planes that disappeared and mysteriously crashed in this location, including Air France 447 when 228 people lost their lives in June 2009.
